Venice Biennale

Attending the 2016 architecture biennale has been very inspiring as a significant proportion of the exhibitions dealt with housing. The work that Alison Brooks Architects have been doing for London’s South Kilburn Estate Regeneration shows what can be achieved with inspired leadership from Brent Council. It was a delight to see the projects by my friends from my Durban University days.

Warwick Bridge, Durban – Erik Orts-Hanson and Janina Masojada  that safely linked two parts of the city to allow commuters access to the railway station and to the thriving market area.

School delivery – Ruben Reddy and AJ Corbett “ the task was to deliver 50 schools to the rural community of the Transkei, Eastern Province of South Africa”.
