Help more low-income buyers get on to the housing ladder
Mix welcomes the Government’s Social Mobility Commission report produced in collaboration with the London School of Economics highlighting the difficulties for people on lower incomes to buy a home of their own and then staircase either into greater levels of ownership or to properties that support their changing needs.
We have been pressing for greater diversity in the housing market with an emphasis on providing truly affordable home ownership for people on lower levels of income as well as moderate incomes. The housing we provide ensures that the homes targeted to low and moderate income bands are retained for people in those sectors in the first and onward sales.
Lower income couples who need a larger home when they start a family should be able to do so within their economic capabilities. Mix’s home ownership model offers people these kinds of opportunities.
